Terms of use
Draft for review. Claude wrote this for the Lever Institute to check; it hasn’t been reviewed by a lawyer yet.
Lever Decarb is run by the Lever Institute. These terms cover using it, with or without an account. By using it, you agree to them.
What it is
A tool to measure your business’s emissions, find ways to cut them, and draft a plan or an AASB S2 climate report. Features and limits may change, and we’ll say so on the site before we start charging for anything.
Your data is yours
You own what you put in: bills, sites, equipment, readings and your edits. We use it only to run the service for you, as set out in our privacy statement. We don’t sell it. You can delete your account, and your company if you’re its only owner, at any time from Account settings.
Figures and drafts are a starting point
Emissions, costs, savings and report wording come from your inputs, published emission factors, typical equipment data and AI models. They’re estimates. Check them before you rely on them, publish a report, or make an investment decision. They aren’t financial, legal or engineering advice, and they aren’t assurance of your report.
Your account and team
Keep access to your email secure, since sign-in links go there. Owners decide who joins their company and can remove people. Only invite people who should see your company’s data.
Fair use
Don’t upload anything you don’t have the right to share, try to reach another company’s data, overload the service, or use it to send unwanted email. We may limit, suspend or close accounts that do.
Guest companies
If you try it without signing up, your company is tied to that browser and deleted after 30 days without a visit.
Our responsibility
We take care to keep the service running and your data safe, but it’s provided as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses or for decisions made using its figures. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell account holders by email before it applies. These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales.
